We are saying good-bye to two fantastic people – Rachel Jantzi and Dale Hotson. While they will definitely be missed, we are happy for them as they move on to their next adventures.
Dale has been with Pfenning’s for nearly 12 years, and has held many responsibilities here. From managing the warehouse operations, to balancing outside purchasing with farm operations, sometimes his job description might as well read “professional juggler.” I have toured the fields with him many times, and will miss this – I learned a lot from him.
Rachel started with Pfenning’s 11 years ago after high school, and moved through the company in a wide variety of capacities. Her enthusiasm for learning and trying new things took her away to school and to try other jobs over the years. She truly is a “Jane of All Trades”. The last few years she could be found at her desk focused on complex calculations that I will not pretend to understand, answering phones, assembling furniture, checking or even packing orders in the warehouse, organizing, or making deliveries in one of the big trucks. Her adventurous and enthusiastic spirit shows in everything she does, especially after an extra coffee!
For Dale, retirement will bring a whole new set of responsibilities, the best of which is being a full-time Grandpa. We know that will be the best part, as we’ve all seen how his face lights up as he talks about his grandchildren! Travelling the world with his wife will come in as a close second. Enjoy this time Dale, you have certainly earned it.
Rachel has accepted a position in a completely different industry – robotics! This shouldn’t be a surprise as she’s always game for a new experience. Always eager to learn new things, we have complete confidence she is ready for the challenges that await her.
Best of luck to you both! You will be missed. Please come by and join us for coffee sometime.
