KEEPING IT FRESH: HOW TO HELP YOUR PRODUCE LAST LONGER

Proper storage of your fresh fruits and vegetables is important. Storing them correctly will help them stay fresh as long as possible, giving you the most value for your money.

If you have a refrigerator, a dark cupboard or pantry, and a countertop you can keep just about anything at optimal freshness! Some things like it cold, other things like open air away from other things, and others prefer to dwell in darkness (we’re looking at you, potatoes).

Proper storage of produce doesn’t have a one-size-fits-all solution. It can feel like parenting a bunch of moody siblings – some like it cool, some need space, and a few spoil everything if they’re not kept in line. (We’re looking at you, ethylene-producers.) Temperature, humidity levels, *ethylene incompatibility, and even light exposure – all of these have an effect.
